Each of our business parks has its own profile and offers particular advantages for companies in certain industries. The Cargo Distribution Centre, for example, is ideal for the logistics sector. Bremen Technology Park is the better choice for companies who would benefit from being close to the University of Bremen and to the many research institutes. Bremen Airport-City, meanwhile, offers an international dimension with its location close to Bremen airport. The Überseestadt (New Harbour District) is suitable for businesses from various sectors that are looking for a city centre location in regenerated docklands.
Breathing new life into old docklands
Bremen's Überseestadt docklands are currently undergoing a transformation. A whole new district of the city is being created in an area covering 300 hectares – right next to Bremen's city centre and with lots of exclusive waterside locations. The historical docks and port industry are now complemented by modern architecture. Vast red-brick warehouses have been converted into office and retail complexes. But the maritime economy is still a presence and provides a captivating contrast between the traditional and the modern. And Überseestadt is not just a place to work, people live there too: the first new buildings on the banks of the river Weser and lofts in converted warehouses have been successfully launched on the market.
On the doorstep of an elite university
Since it was founded more than 25 years ago, Bremen Technology Park has become a leading high-tech hub. It is home to companies such as Siemens and aerospace giant OHB and to the Max Planck and Fraunhofer institutes and other top research organisations. The park covers 170 hectares and contains more than 500 businesses employing around 7,500 people. It is right on the doorstep of northern Germany's only elite university and features a broad mix of industries. At Bremen Technology Park, business and science come together to develop practical ideas and pioneering concepts. Demand for high-end office and logistics space is high, but the required properties are available.
Helping your business take off
Bremen Airport-City is an international transport hub and a centre of the aerospace industry and of research and teaching. It occupies a leading position in the German market. Spread over an area of 130 hectares – just ten minutes from Bremen's city centre – this future-focused business district maintains close links with the airport on its doorstep. Of a total of 16,000 employees, 6,000 work in the aerospace industry, including for the Airbus Group. The companies based here also benefit from the proximity to research activities. Networks that combine research and practice have grown up around the university of applied sciences, the start-up centre in Bremen's World Trade Centre and a variety of institutions.
Well connected in every respect
At Bremen Hansalinie Industrial Estate, it's all about speed: located on the A1 autobahn close to the Bremer Kreuz intersection, this high-tech location is perfect for automotive suppliers in particular. It is ideally suited for just-in-sequence deliveries to the assembly lines at Mercedes-Benz Bremen, for example. The optimum transport links also benefit a number of other industries – a total of 75 companies employing around 3,000 people are based here. Vacant sites are available, and the development of the areas south of the railway line offer further potential.
At the heart of the North Range ports
The Cargo Distribution Centre is one the largest logistics centres in Germany. Recently, the amount of logistics space that it offers exceeded 13 million square metres for the very first time. The companies that are based at the centre benefit from the outstanding infrastructure and the pooling of industry expertise and offer high-quality services in every segment. Because of all these positive aspects, there is constant demand for the logistics premises at this site. A total of 115 hectares will potentially be available to businesses. Currently, around 33 hectares of this is ready for development.
A giant of an industrial estate
Bremen Industrial Park offers space for commercial and industrial use on a gigantic scale. Around 140 hectares of land are available for the manufacturing industries and for services. Companies benefit from fast access to the A281, A27 and A1 autobahns, while Bremen's airport can be reached in a matter of minutes. Transshipment facilities are available in the neighbouring industrial docks. Twenty-five companies of various sizes and from various sectors are based here. Currently, around 22 hectares of ready-to-build space is available at short notice.
Modern working in a historical setting
Working in a historical setting: the Wollkämmerei in Bremen provides an ideal base for small and medium-sized enterprises from the skilled trades and service sectors. Metalworking and engineering, wind energy and logistics: traditional Bremen industries rub shoulders with producers of modern technology here. The late 19th-century building is home to artists, designers, engineers and architects, and it also has potential to be used by cafés and restaurants. There are direct links to the road and rail networks and the site is located right on the banks of the Weser river.
