Faserinstitut Bremen e. V. (FIBRE)

The Faserinstitut Bremen e.V. (FIBRE) is a successful research institute for the development of high-performance fibre reinforced composites, processing technologies, fibre development, quality control and material characterisation. An institute with this combination of core competencies is unique in the German research landscape.

Partners are research institutes and companies from various industries like aerospace, automotive and windenergy. The institute cooperates since 1989 with the University of Bremen and is active in research and teaching. FIBRE trains skilled employees in manufacturing of fibre composite components and trains skilled employees in the production of CFRP components.

FIBRE employs 40 highly skilled engineers and scientists in different disciplines and technical staff. FIBRE is certified according to DIN ISO EN 9000 and EMAS III and is part of an international network of industrial partners, research Institutes and universities.
