The bfw is a training organisation which has been involved in training people for jobs in the renewable energy industry in Bremen and Bremerhaven since 2002. The bfw trains skilled personnel for work in the wind industry. Participants in training programmes are taught skills which enable them to have successful careers in rotor blade manufacturing, assembly, installation, service and maintenance of WTG. During their courses, they obtain all specialist certificates required. In order to create a larger and more sustainable basis for companies, for 2 years/ since 2014, the bfw has been retraining workers to become industrial electricians with specialisation in operational technology and skilled workers for metal technology with specialisation in assembly technology. The bfw offers industry- specific training programmes as well as initial and annual refresher instructions for all relevant certificates to employees and enterprises in the wind sector. We are also a strong partner in personnel development within the companies, providing customised and standard seminars.

The Berufsfortbildungswerk Gemeinnützige Bildungseinrichtung des DGB [non-commercial vocational training organisation of the German confederation of trade unions] was founded in 1953 and is one of the largest providers of vocational training in Germany. With more than 45,000 trainees at 200 educational facilities and 1,600 employees, the bfw offers customised training and further education programmes. bfw has been active in the Federal State of Bremen since 1978 and is recognised in accordance with Bremen’s vocational training law.
